Bridget Foster is a journalist with more than two decades of experience writing, producing and supervising award-winning, innovative television newscasts, news websites, and social media sites. Bridget has deep roots in the Tampa Bay community. For the last four years, she has been an Executive Producer at Bay News 9. Currently, she is overseeing the station’s morning and midday newscasts. The shows she manages cover a 12 hour portion of the day. Earlier in Bridget’s career, she worked at WTVT Fox 13 in Tampa for six years as a writer and producer. Bridget’s love of storytelling started early in life. As a child, she wrote stories and produced pretend radio shows with an old cassette recorder. Fast forward about a decade later, and the love just grew stronger, compelling Bridget to pursue and complete her Bachelor of Science degree in Telecommunications-News from the University of Florida. She got her big break in the business during college when she took an unpaid, no credit internship at a local television station and worked her way up to a paid position producing newscasts. There was no looking back. This career path took Bridget on journeys all over her home state of Florida. In addition to Tampa/St. Petersburg, she’s worked in the Gainesville, Tallahassee, and Jacksonville markets. She’s also worked in Indiana and Ohio. Bridget has been a News Director and Assistant News Director. She’s helped launch shows, a station, and successful training programs in various markets. Bridget Foster is also a blogger and founder of womenandmomsonthego.com. She also is currently writing a book about leadership, and she’s pursuing her MBA from the University of Florida.
“I believe in lifelong learning. I try to learn something new every day. I believe once you cease to gain knowledge and introduce new experiences into your life, you become obsolete in this ever-changing world.”
